Caramel Brownies

1 German chocolate cake mix
3/4 C melted butter or marg
2/3 C canned milk
1 pkg caramels
1 C chocolate chips
1 C walnuts (opt)

Combine mix, 1/3 C of milk, and butter.
Pour 1/2 of batter into 9X13 pan.
Cook at 350 for 6-7 minutes
Melt caramels and the rest of the milk in the microwave.
Mix till smooth.
Pour over baked cake, top with chocolate chips and nuts.
Pour the rest of the cake batter over this and cook for 15-20 minutes.
Don't overcook.
