9-1/2 cups applesauce
2 cups sugar
1-1/2 t ground cinammon
1/2 t ground allspice
1/2 t ground cloves
1/2 t ground nutmeg
Liquefy applesauce in a blender. Put all ingredients in a large pot. Bring to boiling, reduce heat. Cook, uncovered, over very low heat until very thick, stirring often. (It's done when it starts splattering and bubbling like the mud pots at yellowstone!)
Ladle into cup or pint jars, leaving 1/2" headspace. Process 10 minutes.
The recipe says it makes 8 half-pints, but I get less than that. Maybe I like mine thicker.
